(5/8) Shakespeare and Lying (Response to Camille)
Camille's lobby display focused on the importance of lying within this show, with a an interactive element in which people can share some of their own experiences about lying, as well as an informative element with information on the science of lying. Shakespeare's plays are filled with liars, and Much Ado About Nothing is no exception. Within the play the lies of many characters drives the plot forward. This website provides some analysis of the lying in the play and compares it to similar events in King Lear, another of Shakespeare's works.

This production makes some specific references to 1980's fashion. One example is that Hero's wedding dress is modeled after Princess Diana's from 1981. Royal weddings are a national event in the UK, meaning that most people that were around in the eighties would recognize the dress. Here is a link to news coverage of the wedding
