Lobby Display
As an immersive aspect of the lobby display, two beach chairs will be set up, facing the house left wall. (the one that currently has the displays of previous shows) On that wall, there will be a large screen with various images of beach views that can be scrolled through with a remote. Between the two chairs, there will be a small table, where there will be the remote for the screen, and a 1980s style boombox. The boombox will be preloaded with the soundtrack from the show with the the original songs composed by Robert Hastie for this production.
Next to the chairs will be a standalone sign (in red below) there will also be a small card on the table with instructions on using the boombox.
(all the songs from the production are available on spotify)
Our production takes place during the 1980s on the party island of Messina, in which soldiers often spend their time for some "r and r." The music heard in this production sounds like the tunes from that era, but uses lyrics written by Shakespeare himself. Take a seat and transport yourself to the 1980s.
